When Ricky Claypoole, known for his work with Delenda and formerly BBIB, decided to explore a side project, he brought a fresh twist to the alternative and pop-punk scene. Spinning Mercury is not his main focus, but it stands out as a creative outlet where he writes and plays guitar, joined by Andrew Markle from As the Kingdom Falls on bass guitar. This collaboration captures a unique energy that blends their influences into something both nostalgic and new.

The Story Behind the Artwork
One of the most striking elements of this project is the pop-punk artwork that visually defines Spinning Mercury. The band logo and overall design feature a friendly, child-like astronaut spinning around Mercury while holding a flag. This image perfectly reflects the band’s name and the playful spirit of the music. It’s a reminder that side projects can be a space for experimentation and fun, not just serious work. The artwork also translates well into pop-punk merch, making it ideal for fans who want to wear or display something that feels authentic and approachable.
